After reading the chapter, answer the following questions:

1. What did Wooden do to prepare for a team practice?

2. How do you think Wooden's disinterest in scouting other teams reflected on his team's performance?

3. Give an example of how "activity is not necessarily accomplishment."

4. How do you prepare so that you can maximize your effort?

5. Who in your organization or profession always seems to be "on track" with the right priorities? To what do you attribute that ability?

Rate your own leadership by placing the number 1, 2, or 3 next to each of the following statements: 1=Never 2=Sometimes 3=Always

1. I know which of my responsibilities produce the greatest results.

2. I invest the majority of my time in the few areas of my responsibilities that produce the greatest results.

20-39-This is an area of weakness in your leadership. Until you grow in this area, your leadership effectiveness will be negatively impacted.

3. Do you agree with the Pareto Principle that your top 20 percent produces 80 percent of your results? Explain.

4. How does your organization delegate responsibilities?

5. How do you currently prioritize your responsibilities?

6. How can you change to be sure you always focus your greatest effort on your top 20 percent?
